No one drew dames like Baker, pally!
Marketed as “An Original Picture Novel” written by Hal Webber with Art by Matt Baker and inks by Ray Osrin, Lust had the distinction of being the first true graphic novel. In this regard It Rhymes With Lust blazed the trail for classics like Alan Moore’s Watchmen, and Frank Miller’s Ronin and The Dark Knight Returns.
Nobody could have been better suited to rendering this Noir story than Matt Baker. Baker was one of the most skilled artists of the Golden Age and is best known for his “Good Girl Art” on features like Fox’s “Phantom Lady” and Fiction House’s “Sky Girl.”
