
Max Adalbert ~ Born 19 December 1874 in Danzig. Had small roles in Fritz Lang's Dr. Mabuse: The Gambler or Dr. Mabuse, der Spieler and Between Two Worlds, Beyond the Wall or Destiny as well as the Indian Epic of 1921. Adalbert had small parts in a large number of silent films before breaking into supporting and starring roles just as sound films began in Germany. Died 7 September 1933, soon after the Nazi's came to power.
The card offered here is a vintage original from the twilight of the Weimar government or about 1930-1931. It has a gold-framed color-tinted portrait of Max Adalbert. Issued by Salem Cigarettes as part of their Goldfilm photo series. This is card #61 from series I. Card is in nice condition with some very light wear: VG/F
