Marianne Hoppe ~ This is a vintage original cigarette card form the series Bunte Filmbilder from 1937. This is card #300. Size: just over 2¾" x 2¼" (about the same size as a typical American baseball card). This particular example is in excellent condition.

Marianne Hoppe was born on April 26, 1909 in Rostock, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany as Marianne Stefanie Paula Henni Gertrud Hoppe. German leading lady of stage and films who first performed as a member of Berlin's Deutsches Theater under legendary director Max Reinhardt. She was known for Ten Little Indians (1965), Wrong Move (1975) and The False Step (1939). She was married to Gustaf Gründgens. She died on October 23, 2002 in Siegsdorf, Bavaria, Germany.
