Marcella Albani - Popular silent film star. She was an Italian actress who starred primarily in German or Italian silent films. Because language was no barrier in the silent era, she was also popular in England and the United States. Perhaps best noted for her starring role in Geheimnisse des Orients or Scheherazade in 1928. In the United States the film was known as Secrets of the Orient. Her last film was The Emperor of California, made in 1936. After the Nazis came to power in Germany she only made a few films.
