This is an ex library copy. It has the usual library markings including a catalog number on the spine and library charge card pocket which is intact. Overall a clean and readable book, good.

Primarily this book is concerned with the the Victorian idea of world missions in which stalwart White missionaries sailed off to exotic lands to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to the savages (meaning non-White) many of whom already had well developed belief structures of their own. The book is as interesting for its perspective as it is for its contents.
