Milwaukee's Arid Dome - circa 1960 ~ No printer or publisher given. Produced for the Milwaukee County Park System, production number 138978. Nice chrome card is unused and undated but I'd guess between 1959 and 1963. Some light wear. The original Mitchell Park Conservatory was built in 1898 and used until 1955 when it was declared to be impractical to repair. Donald Grieb designed three beehive-shaped (not geodesic) glass domes, 140 feet in diameter at the base and 85 feet high, offering 15,000 square feet of growing space for plant display. Construction began in 1959.
