Carola Höhn was born on January 30, 1910 in Bremerhaven, Germany as Karoline Minna Höhn. She was an actress, known for Abenteuer im Grandhotel (1943), Königswalzer (1935) and Beatrice Cenci (1941). Intelligent leading lady of UFA films in the 1930s and early 1940s, her first appearance in film was in 1928. On stage from 1933 at the Berlin Schlosstheater, Carola invariably played complex, emancipated women, usually in musical comedy and (in that specifically German genre), the 'Heimatfilm.' In 1941 she married a major in the Luftwaffe, Arved Krüger. He was shot during action above Malta in 1942. Their son Arved-Michael was born later that year. She became the acclaimed Grande Dame of the German post-war cinema. Her second marriage was to Gerd Lange from 1966 till his death in 1991. She died on November 8, 2005 in Grünwald, Munich, Germany.
