Vadim (Vladimir) A. Medvedev was born April 28, 1929. In 1949, he graduated from the Moscow studio Cameri Theatre, in 1952 worked at the Pushkin Theatre Leningrad, and in 1966 moved to the troupe of the Bolshoi Drama Theater. His major film debut came in 1954, playing Anton Zhurbin in the movie Bolshaya semya (Big Family). The following year, Vadim Medvedev appeared in two films that attracted the interest of viewers - in Ovod (Gadfly), created by Alexander Fayntsimmerom, he played Bolla, and in Yan Frid's production of Shakespeare's play Twelfth Night he performed the role of Duke Orsino. The 1959 film-opera of Tchaikovsky's Yevgeni Onegin (Eugene Onegin) made Vadim a major Soviet star.
