Gustav Fröhlich - Journalist turned actor, Fröhlich played the lead in scores of German films beginning in 1925. He is perhaps best known as the upper-class young man who abandons his life of luxury to join the workers in Fritz Lang's science fiction classic Metropolis (1926) in which he stars with Brigitte Helm (Maria). Unlike Helm, he made at least eleven films for the Nazi screen including Minor Love and the Real Thing (1938) and The Great King (1942). Bunte Filmbilder #270 from Lloyd Cigarettes, 1937, VG/F. Card is shown larger than actual size but the size you see it depends on your screen resolution. Gustav is particularly dapper in this large format gilt-edged card.
